Continuing from here: Yet another challenge!
That looks kind of familiar, doesn’t it?
It isn’t perchance the proLix Drafticon QZ-9207u (Limited Edition)?
[JOKE]
Almost right, only the lead diameter is missing
@Gunther maybe a Tk Fine Vario L with the plating removed. Never heard of a limited edition - looks great!
Not a Faber-Castell TK-fine Vario L and (at least as far as I know) not a limited edition. And it’s not a “mod” but a regular pencil
I can see with a close-up comparison that there are some very minor differences, but if not made by Faber Castell, this gold plated pencil looks like a product design clone.
It’s one of those craft mechanical pencil makers is my guess probably fairly new with a wooden body maybe?
I may be totally wrong, but I think I have already seen something like that. Does it have a pocket clip in the form of a golden snake?
Oh snap
That’s “does it say addiator on the side” level guessing right there. I’m hoping you’re right!
What I have in mind is a type of drafting pencil, possibly Korean, whose listings were relatively common on Ebay a few years ago; they came in black cardboard boxes with a plastic window showing the pencil itself; hexagonal body much like a TK-Fine Vario L, but in a golden finish; for some reason, the pocket clip was particularly elaborate, and I vaguely remember a curled snake as the form of the clip.
Obviously, I don’t remember the name of that pencil, brand or model; maybe it started with H maybe not.
It is very late here, however, and it is quite possible that right now I am living a lucid dream. Wake me up with a notice that I was wrong, and I will not suffer any consequence from this strange vision.
I agree. Korean brands have a knack for gilding up everything!
Micro Hexa was something like this…
It definitely is, at least regarding the grip.
I wouldn’t be surprised if something like this exists (and resembles a popular existing pencil).
@Leonov and @drifand are right! It’s the Micro Hexa 7000 from Korea.
That was quick!
That snake clip is something else!!
It may not say addiator on the side, but it does have an adder on the side.
Good thing I’m not an adder-hater (sorry, I’ll go away now)
Such a reptilian design
Your creative comments are great!
Man, I am getting old. Just a few years ago, I would have remembered the name “Hexa Micro” in way less time.
