Nice Kent Microsharp!
I was surprised how detailed and well build the entire brass mechanism is. Definitely unique!
Weekend Lineup No. 17 / 2026
Thanks to @Gunther for his help with getting IMB pencils with electrographic leads.
Also, have you tried the Sanford Logo 0.5? Seems to be basically the same pencil, with upgrades: retractable tip, with two nose length options, some ivory ring-bling.
Maybe not as sturdy as the QE405, but not a bad daily edc writer. I see now the Logo is 1/8”+ longer and minor diameter size on upper part. Only thing I don’t like is the two sections have more give (movement) in the middle…not a big deal.
Got mine here: Vintage Sanford Logo 0.5 Black Mechanical Pencil Japan Twist Erase | eBay
did pentel make this for them?
The most I could determine was a google search:
“Key Details Regarding the Relationship:
-
Manufacturer: Both were manufactured by Pentel in Japan.
-
Design: They are recognized by their distinct “twist-up” jumbo eraser, comfortable grip, and smooth lead advancement mechanism.
-
Functionality: They share the same core functionality, including the twist-extend eraser and often a retractable tip.
-
Interchangeable Parts: The erasers and some internal components are interchangeable.”
So the internals may be the same, but the retractable tip would make the Logo rather different. May disassemble one to find out. BTW, the listing is for 4 pencils…not a bad deal for new.
I have not but I’ve considered it many times. They’re always being sold on eBay.
True about availability on EBay. Mainly posted for anyone who can’t get the Pentel for a decent price…the Logo is kind of a nice clone, for the retractability function…less stabby in me pocket
…
I love the LEGO color match!
What is the middle one called, thanks?!
The middle one is the H233 (top: H223, bottom: H-323).
Disassembles like the 223 or not, like the 323?
I’ve never seen it before, but it’s beautiful!
The H233 disassembles like the H-323, i. e. both have a plastic thread and the mechanism can’t be removed. The H233 has a metal thread and disassembles like the Pentel P200.
Here are more of the H230 series: Tool cool to be forgotten… Pilot H230
Did it come in black?
I was super lucky enough to snag a black 239!
@Pdunc67 has a bunch of colors
