I remember everyone in my school had Bumblebee yoyos in the 90s, growing up.
The only tricks I could ever do were walk the dog and the Eiffel Tower.

Totally. We’ve come a long way since then. Yo-yos today don’t return to your hand when you pull up on the string. It’s a totally different experience.
1970’s had a yo-yo rage. I think… “Duncan” was the big name back then. A kid at school brought in a two-tone butterfly yo-yo and did all sorts of amazing tricks with it. Then lighted ones showed up (and this was before LED’s, so they had these tiny incandescent flashlight bulbs inside). I eventually ended up with a butterfly yo-yo but never mastered it. I just couldn’t get the hang of keeping the string from getting overly twisted (which would create problems!)

How do you get them to return then?

You have to do a special move called a bind. You basically force the string to bind on itself in a certain way and then it will return. It’s one of the hardest things to master when beginning unresponsive play. #physics

I recently picked up this Karas Kustoms Render K Mini ballpoint in brass from @River. It writes wonderfully and came with a beautiful patina. Also, being solid brass, it has a nice heft to it. I am very happy with this piece!

It’s always a calculated risk going with ‘too many’ colors at launch. They should know that green is a very popular colorway and may have held it back in reserve, etc.

How many Orenz Nero limited release colors were there? I thought there was a navy blue and a medium gray… didn’t realize it was dark green. Did you grab this early on, or was it one of those sleeper listings where the seller didn’t know it was the rare color? Also, were they limited to a particular lead size, like 0.3 mm?
That Sakura Intaglio has a curious grip engraving. Is that all plastic, or a coating over metal?

I haven’t kept up with Orenz Nero colors, coz all of them are too subtle for my taste. However the recent limited sets that included ‘green black’ and ‘carbon black’ also had a nice Nero-style lead case, so I got those two in 0.3mm
As for the Intaglio, it lives up to its name: the grip pattern is cut out from the solid aluminum body, mirroring how printing blocks for paper money were made. The satin finish has a nice feel and it does not have any coatings - unlike the Hexagonal and Solid Write - so there is no chance of ugly peeling.
