Here is the 70th Anniversary Parker Jotter. This was the first Jotter I added to my collection. It has a nice cross hatch pattern engraved into the body.

Did you ever find out why the name “BOXY” was chosen? Was it because of a manga character or something? Sailor Moon series has a Boxy character.

I recently got this S5 knock-off, the G-color, and it reminded me of another S-series inspired lineup, eMicro’s Codas. None of them stand up to the OG S-series, though.

Neat display - great lineup!
I never saw those two in the middle, white front section, rear in blue or red. At first I thought they were double-knocks as my browser’s image display had partially clipped the bottom while doing a mouse-over. Putting the cursor aside, I could then see… they appear to be pipe slides?

Hey Gary. Nope just regular old drafting pencils with a flared grip. They are in the 1980 catalog.
The translated version mentions features I either don’t understand how to use or don’t have. No double knock, no sliding sleeve.

The flared grip has an interesting subtlety to it, with the light ribbing for the forward 1/3rd. Strange how it’s not a pipe slide as I’d expect that big chunky nose cone would present a little more lead pipe vulnerability. But much less of a concern if they’re very light.
The rear collar or band that is at the base of the plunger has some interesting color choices. The black body one looks almost like a rOtring clone. Curious how the red one mirrors the white color in the band, while the blue one goes with a dark blue color instead. I think white would’ve worked nicely.

I finally got ahold of a nice lightly used Pilot H-1010 Shaker version 1 (top pencil in pics) after having a version 2 for many years and didn’t know it was the later (inferior?) one.
Well, I can say the added weight and build quality does make a difference. I didn’t use my original one that much cause it felt kinda insubstantial, but loved the design/color elements. Will definitely be using this one more….”what a difference some weight makes”.

Yep. It’s a pretty fascinating hobby as well. Small differences in shape, weight, materials, finishes, etc. make each have a bit of a different feel. I have a little over 300 in the collection.
