After organizing all my Pentel mechanical pencils, I realized I have nearly 200. They just added up.![]()
I love the uncommon stickers on your PMG and PG4.
Love the Technopress unassumingly hanging around, @Jose . If I may ask: what is the feeling while using it? — If you happen to use it at all.
@Leonov I haven’t actually used it, so I’m not sure about the feel. I can only say it’s light and interesting.
Well, should you ever take it for a spin, let us know how it performs: it is one of the models I look at with the highest expectations, and I am really curious about its general vibes when in use. Thank you for the reply! ![]()
The proverbial needle in the haystack….Not technically on my desk yet, but should arrive in a couple of weeks.
The condor ![]()
Yes, the condor. A species on the brink of extinction by most accounts, but it seems like its making a comeback in Eastern Europe. This is the second time I encounter them in the wild. Have got three in a lot last december on Vinted in Romania. This one comes from Poland.
Wow! An A.W. Faber Castell 9000 E SPECIAL ![]()
Now we just need to find each of us a nice Airliner!
I was planning to give the wooden ones to the kids, but if there’s anything valuable in there that you want let me know.
A beautiful rollerball by a maker from Virginia City, Montana. Turned from gorgeous dyed buckeye wood and the cap is held on by a magnet similar to the Uniball Zento Signature.
Top is a picture of the piece with the full GG1k cap next to it so you can see what part is being used.
Bottom is to show why it’s necessary, as the technomatic upper is much shorter than the TK upper and for the knock to function, the hight at which the cap sits on the lead tube must be adjusted. Now the technomatic’s original knock cap fits, or any of the same I.D. like the GG1k or PSD5 caps.
Thank you, but I have most of the woodcased pencils in the photo. The SPECIAL E caught my eye because it was a pencil for marking cards for the Hollerith system. Its lead is electrically conductive (to be more precise: it conducts better than others). Back then there were some other pencils for the same purpose, e. g. the Staedtler Impulsograph.
Wooden hexagonal combo for the week!
• J.S. Staedtler 1001 Technico 2mm
• PG5 custom by Nokyang Workshop (aka Green Sun) of Korea - swapped internals for PG7
• OHTO WN01 0.5mm
• Object Index Needle Point Pen
• Uni recycled wood lead case
• Kokuyo RESARE eraser
I received two orders today. The three on the left are from Buyee. Finally got my hands on a Mitsubishi M5-100/150 double knock. The grip on this is delightful.
This amazing shipment on the right is from none other than @DarkwingDuck . I think this is my favorite trade we have done so far. It’s nice to have gotten the M5-53 at the same time. There are only a few of the higher up Mitsubishi double knocks left that I want to get.
The Newman drafter is especially exciting. It is so beautiful ![]()
Newman Drafter in such good condition is pretty rare. I’m honestly a bit jealous.![]()
I was surprised he was willing to let it go. I’m over the moon about it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a black one for sale. Always blues and reds.
Nice! The M5-100/150 is one of my favorites. It’s such a solid pencil. The only weakness is that the body color anodizing tends to chip easily. But with black, it’s easy to cover up with either satin finish enamel paint or a Sharpie. Nice how you got one with a price tag. Mercari find?
The M5-53 was a big disappointment for me, because you think you’re getting a chromed steel grip/nose-cone, but it’s chromed plastic. Still, it’s nice looking. And the light weight means easy writing. Could use a more robust clip, though. I picked up a red one.
Yes, it was a Mercari find. Also, that’s good to know about the finish. So, that means the upper barrel is metal as well?
I actually read similar comments about the M5-53 before, so I had low expectations, but I’m pleasantly surprised. It didn’t feel as cheap as people made it out to sound once I held it in my hands. Plus, the internal mechanism seems to be the same as the M5-100/150.
Now I need to get my hands on a black M5-1030 and a M5-2030.
