Some good value mechanical pencils:
The KT Gel Switch is nice, but the grip is a little too soft/gooey for my taste. Love the Zebra Delguard LX in Fog White! And of course, the Karakaze01 is terrific.

Have to admit, some of them haven’t even been in rotation but sometimes I just pull out the box file and it’s so calming to see the colors all lined up in a row.

How do you fold the paper in such a way to be uniform for the slots?

Just basic high school trigonometry: Internal height of the box file = height of triangle. Divide internal width of box file by desired number of slots to get 2x base of the triangle. Calculate the hypotenuse for the slanted sides per slot. Measure and mark out the divisions on the card. Score and bend accordingly.

On the plus side, this homemade system lets me store pencils on BOTH sides. Flip the case over and you get Side B. Commercial slots and dividers only fit half as much.

The orange Katakana is a like a cool lil Easter-egg. My eyes slipped by 2x with a vague sense of something being off
