What's on your desk right now?

Very nice coloration! An electric teal vibe from that Tombow Zoom L102.

My Surari says hi (a little more “sky blue” but close)

I think my favorite is the Kerry.

Having some fun with Pilots.

I figured that should work but never got around to trying it. Looks great!

The silver stripe (white stripe) series by PILOT looks so good. Mitsubishi has a similar design to that of the Elite but with silver. Also a nice look.

And, speaking of etched stripes in brushed stainless steel, PILOT made some integrated nib pens back in the 1970’s that were so futuristic looking. Such works of art!

No idea what this ”new” pencil is called, but I love the look.

Molded PILOT 0.5 Made in Japan and full metal internals with chromed threads in the front and a cleaning rod in it’s pink eraser.

Rubber retainer is old and a bit loose and there is a tiny crack in the back.

Definitely one of my favs! The etched grip feels so good and overall build quality is excellent. I wish I could get my hands on the 0.3!

These are beautiful! Do you happen to know the model numbers?

I don’t have it for the light yellow 0.5 but I believe its a Loft.
The light blue is also a loft: Q1003-4LF 0.3mm.
The Moderate Blue 0.5 is for Kitera Shouji, I think it is Q1005-MCKS

I am in awe of my newly acquired Automatic and I don’t think it’s going to wear off anytime soon, so here are some more groupings with it.

The unifying theme here is the black plastic “end piece?” integrated into the end of a silver metal barrel. I suspect these were used to push the center of balance more to the front to even things out. It’s a pretty cheap and effective way to get the exact center of balance the designers wanted and it looks great, in my opinion.

There’s one glaring omission in this line up. That is the etched Newman drafter. I’ll be hard-pressed to add that to the line up anytime soon.

From left to right:

Pilot Automatic (HAT-300S-S-05)

Korea Pilot H-800

Mitsubishi Pro-Staff (uni5-1550)

Hobby Tank Middle Ring Sharp

No black plastic but do you have a Super II?

Yes. It’s definitely not as nice as the Pro Staff, though.

Interesting, I feel the opposite

make the body thin in depth and hollow like the 925 25?

Good point. Varying the thickness of materials is a good strategy. Just have to make sure the barrel isn’t so thin that it can dent easily.

Pentel sure knows how to milk the colorways with SMASH!

They look like they’re made of those soft pastel candies.:wink::grin:
