If that is your Junior being resold then it certainly is funny.
Yes I did sell on eBay many years ago, it may have changed but selling from ebay.com.au on ebay.com was a challenge with extra costs and rules. It may have changed now but as you say, the fees are enormous now.
I’m probably not much of a capitalist when it comes to parting with my collection as I’m keener that these things end up in good homes (rather than ebay dealer sales). At a fair price of course but not a ridiculous figure.
The challenge for me is that ebay has a massive worldwide audience but my choosing to try selling through forums is very focused but very narrow. Maybe the leftovers after a year or so will go on eBay.
It’s proving to be an interesting exercise for me as most of the big ticket items sell almost instantly (rarity I guess) while absolute bargains (IMO) like NOS Fugle Leadloks don’t get a sniff.
I’ve found though that if you’re having success at your prices then stick with it because you have to find that line where you question if $10 or $20 more is worth the effort and time.
I get be impression that you’re aiming for quicker sales because of the vastness of your collection while also not giving things away.
If you found that zone then I’d say you’re doing great!
My junior has went through 2 cycles and hasn’t sold so maybe it is too expensive… I’ll give it a bit more time
I will always sell to someone on here cheaper than eBay though!! Most of the time at my exact or slightly lower cost!
Just listed a bunch of Criteriums on my page. Criterium
Gilbert & Blanzy-Poure must have got something right for this aluminium design to have remained intact for such a long time and still available today. You can drive a truck over these things and they still work and look the same! Apologies to the lovers of 780 Staedtlers but they get a cracked barrel just rolling off the table onto the floor!
Researching the Criterium name history is challenging, basically during the transition periods when new company partnerships took place, the product remained the same but the packaging changed. So it’s not uncommon to see the same leadholder in a different box.
If anyone is interested in my research with the help of AI and several images from my collection, just DM me for a link to the document.
For the Lovers of Staedtler 780s and other 700s plus all the older stuff, I’ve just posted the rest of my Staedtler Collection for viewing. There might be some numbers you haven’t seen before.Leadholders
• rOtring Rapid Pro 2.00mm (I don’t like its balance, but it is considered a classic)
• Metaphys Locus 2.00mm (great piece, albeit a bit heavy: the clip can be unscrewed, thus making the object almost perfectly symmetrical, which is super-cool).
As for @0zmac , I wonder whether this might be the internal spring of some unassuming, timeless classic like the Koh-I-Noor 5611, but I think it might be something a bit more exotic, which I cannot spot right now.
