I have a YAJ account but no payment info tied to it… so it has no transactions. I use it to look at auction bid history. It has been perfectly fine since I created it about 8 years ago.
Today… I go to look at the bidding history of an auction, and I’m now seeing this:
Basically, it looks like my access to bidding history is finished. I can’t respond in Kanji. And of course voice? That won’t work as well–I don’t speak Japanese.
I don’t know what triggers this to happen, but if you’re like me and have a YAJ account… you may find yourself facing this same problem as well (that is, if you don’t have a Japanese character set available on your device or speak Japanese). Of course, with an English keyboard, there’s no way I could figure out what characters were assigned to what keys… plus, I can’t even make out what they are based on the the technique of image mangling going on.
And if you’re on a mac you can enable “speak selection” somewhere in the acessibility settings. Possibly Gemini AI can speak it too.
Also, if you go to your mac’s Terminal you can use the unix command say [text] and the computer will speak it for you (which is basically the same as “speak selection” but without the graphical user interface)
The trouble is, I don’t know Japanese. So with these distorted images… I can’t make out what the characters actually are. I can’t just copy/paste to find them either–it’s an image.
Yeah, it’s really frustrating. I mean, I have an account with a password. I found out that when I try to do anything account related, even to log out from the session, I get thrown this CAPTCHA authentication screen.
There is a way around this, though. Aucview will show you the bidding action while the auction is active, and for the first 3 months after it ends. And you don’t have to have an account. You can use it as a guest. THANKFULLY! It’s just more convenient to use YAJ… but now there’s another step to get that info. As long as it’s available without too much effort, I’m now not so steamed.
I did a copy/paste… but it didn’t work. The timeout must be faster than I thought.
I wonder, if you are around for a little while longer, can I upload an image at a precise time, let’s say 7:40 am? If we can get it within a minute, it should work. If not… it’s alright. I really thank you for trying!
