What's on your desk right now?

Very nice! Even after 18 years, when I first saw the PG1804 and bought it immediately, I still enjoy looking at it, especially in its packaging. Very few pencils have managed to do that so far.

The Sharp Tank store does not support direct shipping to foreign countries, so a buying agency shipping from Korea to Germany is mandatory.
Link to the Sharp Tank workshop
Here’s a simple guide on how to navigate the store.
Some products are listed twice. In that case, the one labeled ‘주문제작’ gives you access to every customizeable option of the pen. However it will take 2~3 weeks for Sharp Tank to craft it.
‘완성품’ is the finished product, Sharp Tank crafts some of the many customizable options in advance and ships them immediately after ordering.
For custom PG5s there are actually MORE customizable options, not listed in the product page.
The ‘듀얼캡교체’ menu adds a PMG-style dual sided cap.
The ‘파츠·심통·심경’ menu has custom lead indicator rings, custom clips, and allows you to change the lead width.

The Staedtler 48002 is particularly impressive! Do you know how old it is?

Thanks! I don’t know off the top of my head, I’d probably have to look in the catalogs or web sites, but given the type of lettering, this is one of the oldest series… series 48xxxx. But maybe someone can help us… (?)

In rotation are these 4 classic Lamy:

• design 72 Model 526 capped fineliner / rollerball, a series that I felt was asserting a modern style for Lamy in 1972, about on par with the Montblanc Carrera and Turbo of around the same era.

• design 20 Model 125 0.5mm MP, from 1969. The slim and proportionate balance of steel / Makrolon feels like it was targeting a more youthful customer, and the ballpoints actually had more colors in glossy red, green and yellow plastic.

• 2000 Model L101 0.7mm MP, since 1970, the ‘afterthought’ from the 1966 debut of Lamy’s most iconic design. I grew to have an affinity for the pencil when I considered the button design of the pencil versus the pen models.

• cp1 Model L259 ballpoint, since 1974(?). Also designed by Gerd A. Muller of 2000 fame, this remains my favorite minimalist design from Lamy. Apparently ‘cp’ referred to ‘cylindrical pen’ according to one of the Japanese specialty books on Lamy.

How do you keep the red one in the middle from just rolling all over the place?
Apart from body blocking it with the rest of your fancy pencils…

It’s got a hexagonal/octagonal ring in the middle above the grip
Zoom in you’ll see it

Very very light pencil

if you are interested, Here is a video on the Type E - which is essentially the same pencil, except the red is a KN type (knock advance) and the older Type E is a twist advance.

Never noticed the hex ring.
Guess I have homework now.

Thanks!
