Is that a Raden inlay on the PG5’s? Looks beautifully done.
Wow so you scored those Korean market only mps afterall?
Yes, and I’m not sure how they made it.
This one is a prototype and it looks like the facets are elongated pie shapes glued together to form the barrel. This theory makes sense from an inlay process perspective, but it is hard to imagine that the maker would take the trouble to make all those wedges. So perhaps my guess is incorrect.
I don’t have a copy of the final production version, but perhaps one day I will get one to compare and see if there are different production process clues.
The price of these p115 went down
The Ohhira is excellent, and that Tombow W-knock is massively underrated
Speaking of short, now I find myself with another everlasting pencil. This one sourced from Shopee Taiwan.
Looks like a ‘prison special’!
Presumably they are called everlasting pencils because people buy them, find that they don’t really work, then toss them in a drawer where they remain for the rest of eternity.
Two new wooden pens arrived today, the Everdraw Pale Moon Ebony and the Sharp Tank Blackwood PG5. I was impressed by the Custom PG5, especially in terms of aesthetics and quality of materials.
The luddite looks very beautiful! ![]()
New addition to the horde this week
I am a little late the party on GG1000s but this week was my first time picking one up. And I think i giggled at how quick the nib retracted. I thought the Uni shift was cool, this feels more robust. Def looking to complete the set in all sizes.
Zebras Tect 2way shakibility? Felt clunky. While the esthetics are nice, I’m not sure I’ll complete the set.
The smashes look wonderful and i love the ergonomics , so I’ll slowly descend into madness collecting the colors that look cool to me. Ill never full send the set, and thats okay.
Pencil of surprise courtesy of @DarkwingDuck. The FC colormatics was a welcomed addition.
Currently using a Mitsubishi Pure Malt 5015. There is a little play if you touch the cap while it’s posted, but there’s really no reason to unless you’re unposting it. With that said, I think it’s on par with the Kerry.
If the Kerry was found on the desk of executives, the Pure Malt lived on the mahogany table top of the cigar chomping company director.
Both pencils are beautiful! Is there a way to order a Sharp Tank pencil from Germany?
