What's on your desk right now?

It really is great – and an unexpected find as well. I ordered a lot of pens/pencils on eBay a little while back, and I had no idea it was in the lot because it wasn’t pictured. It was mixed into a box of Uni-ball pens. Mint condition. A pleasant surprise!

Still on the fence if I prefer my Orenz Nero over them

Orenz Nero makes the most sense at 0.3mm for me, when the scratchiness pays off. 0.2 remains off my list for its high probability of malfunctioning.

When I use the plastic-bodied TK-Matic, I’m afraid it’ll break, it doesn’t feel as sturdy as the Orenz Nero. My first impression when I hold the pencil is: This is fragile. The TK-Matic L feels sturdy, but the body slips in my hand where the pencil rests. However, I still prefer the plastic-bodied version, it gives a very good sense of speed and drafting.

Despite this, I feel the TK-Matic’s mechanism is clearly better, but I could easily break the Orenz Nero and buy another one, lol. If it were the same price, I’d buy several TK-Matics, but considering the price, it’s hard to justify it unless it’s a hobby or a desire to explore a scarce item.

I have no clue what the colored Pilot are but I love them!

My two cents: on a good day, a TK-Matic beats the Orenz 0.5 when it comes to both comfort and overall pleasantness; the Orenz is a magnificent piece, but probably the fairest comparison ought to be between a TK-Matic and a Pentel QX, a.k.a. the Orenz grandmother.

I offer myself for the comparison: I have enough TK-Matics to assess the situation, but I need that Pentel QX to close the examination…

Oh, I think I have two spares. I could give you one().

I think the only annoying thing about TK is the absurdly long lead extension with each click. If I could get used to that, I would probably accept that it is intentional and saves time. Just click once and then never click again. But in practice, every time I click it I raise my eyebrows in mocking bewilderment.

Does anyone know what the Pink pencil is in this listing? Please feel free to buy it if you wish. I am just curious to see if it is a Pilot pencil or not!

Yes, thank you very much @DarkwingDuck
That looks it.
The color variation is probably due photography of the catalog and/or the listing

Not a pencil but fun just the same.
Is there a pencil “insert” that converts this to a MP?

That pencil and the Staedtler 48000 series are such nice looking pencils. Something in the nose and its length, with the knurling….
Very nice pencil, congrats
