Wow, the Muji looks amazing. Flat-C vibes.
IIRC if you request to purchase it on Zenmarket it lets you purchase it just fine
I’ve bought some via Buyee without problems.
I must look into those proxy services. I have zero experience with them, and almost as little knowledge of them. Thanks.
Here’s more on the Karakaze with pix from @cytherian as well… a nice clear version with the official Zebra button and clip that the MUJI version omitted.
If you have a Buyee account go to My Page (little icon top right) and then you’ll see a menu on the left:
My Page > Other Sites Information > Purchase Request for other sites (it’s a text link on the right)
Then a form appears where you can enter the page url and quantity of the items you want. Since there’s only 1 item in that page (with no variants, colourways, etc) you only need the url and to specify quantity.
Submit request. They will check availability but alas they won’t send you any alerts, you need to go back to that page and check every 6 hours or so and then complete the purchase in the shopping cart if your request is okay. There is a progress bar with the steps necessary.
Afaik, this works for every online store in Japan.
Edit: workflow description is for desktop, haven’t tried on mobile, probably the same thing with the links elsewhere.
Thanks @ulfesharpe Vasco - I was not aware of that feature
1.8mm German drop pencil from the 1930s + bee wax coffin paintings from BC’s book. Serious Indiana Jones stuff.
What do you think of the 849? I have had my eye on getting one.
I’m no ballpoint expert but like the 849 because of its design and its reliable mechanism. In this particular case, I had to buy it because it came in a beautifully designed set with a leather sleeve and a Viking Skoleblyanten 029 pencil in the same colour (actually, the 849 was designed to match the colour of the pencil; maybe I should have included it in the photo). However, I prefer the Jetstream refill over CdA’s Goliath refill, and luckily the 849 takes Parker G2 style refills.
