Well I was the 2nd place bidder and I was going to bump it up by another ¥800 and then decided to call it quits. You’re welcome. ![]()

@Mecha unwittingly did the same thing on a different auction.
It’s double edged, though I like all of you, I only want to tell you about the auctions I don’t want to win so there’s always the risk.
Yep the red one is 241 pro use model which was released early last year I believe. The grip here was more appealing to me than the 171 model. Also the body seems to have grown slightly in width.
The pilot drafter has minimal wear and got it just under 5k which was still a bit much. The brown gold Pilot Quatro was a lucky find, now I will aim for the gunmetal finish which someone scored here earlier in that big lot.
And yes it is a decent example of the sleek Kokuyo ps-12. Now my body-knock mp collection is almost complete, I have avoided getting the orange silver and Blue silver mistrals so far. Might get the metallic blue and call it done.
As @cytherian correctly pointed out they are Pilot and Ohto Piston sharp respectively. The entry level piston sharps are pretty but their transparent plastic tip cracks easily. Therefore wanted to add one of the premium models to the lot.
The right side of Kerry are the Spalding ballpoint pens which I will convert to mps. I already have two original mps of the same make. And the last one is the lamy cp1 mp.
The white Quatro roller pen is just beautiful!
Agree! It’s like knocking on the door of the 5000 yen ‘elevated’ tier! Great find, @cytherian… now I’m thinking ‘all-white Quatro pencil’!
Not to sour your pursuit, but I had a capped fountain pen and capped rollerball Quatro in the gunmetal finish. Not impressed, so I sold them off. The anodizing is fragile. It chips & scratches easily. I’d seen in the past quite a few examples in the wild with very obvious wear and avoided them. So if you’re enamored with the color, just treat them with “kid gloves” as they say.
If that is a lead sleeve, it looks to be a Pentel S-15 pencil from the late-60’s to early-70’s.
If that is not a lead sleeve, and actual lead, then it is a Pentel Sharp 9 (S-19).
Thank you all so much!
Some Nestler models and variations. Left two are marked ‘Germany’, the two blue from the right are marked ‘Japan’. Others I couldn’t find any markings.
They look very similar to the Mitsubishi 303 and such
These Nestlers were all produced in Japan and branded there as “Germany”. Most of them can be found, under other names, in catalogues for different brand/companies. I have their leftmost model in green, and one of the central model (but as said it sports a Mitsu-Bishi logo).
The only “originally and fully German” Nestler MP I know of is their Nestler Kaliber, but it might also have been built elsewhere. That is a completely different story.
Great display nonetheless, it is nice to see so many different colour shades…
I just received this late yesterday and the listing simply said “Kaweco long ballpoint pen “
The description was
“I remember that it was before the bankruptcy of the first period of Caveco (I don’t know if this is just the way translator translated Kaweco), so I think it was in the late 1960s. It is unused, but it has a certain amount of damage due to aging. Length 163mm. The old logo is attached to the pen top. The refill is A2 and it is dried up.”
Honestly I’m very excited about it because I’ve looked at a few of the Zebra banker pens that @majkycz_y posted but I disliked that they were capped.
This seems to be the best of both.
If anyone knows anything about it, I’d love to hear it.
Maybe @KAWEkollektor can shed light!?!
Or the Encyclopedia de la @drifand
Never seen such a model from Kaweco; they usually go for a much more compact form factor (case in point: the “Special” and “Special S” lineups). Looks very interesting. A rOtring Art Pen before the Art Pen itself.
If confirmed, and paired with a contemporary stand, could be an excellent desk piece.
Is this it? These came as part of that giant lot of pencils I posted about earlier
Edit: Wait, these are pencils, and you guys were talking about the pens. Whoops!
I do think @Ok-Satisfaction3135 is looking for the gunmetal one though.
Doesn’t matter. The pen and pencil look nearly identical save for the slight difference in nose cone.
What you’re showing here is the gunmetal finish on top and matte black on bottom.
