What's on your desk right now?

Beautiful! Thank you…. You are like an MP encyclopedia… I’m constantly impressed.

Top one is an old Montegrappa that I need to send to a friend in Italy for repairs.

The 925 95 09… my god, is this thing the most handsome pencil ever made?

Last one is a Osmiroid all in plastic, with a rare, super fantastic Indian Ink ready nib. I’ve had it for years… I should actually use it more, it’s a great little pen.

Yeah. The tip profile is simple and feels original.

@MarkN
I’m guessing the middle pencil is made by Rite-Rite. The Yello Tire pencil has a lot of info in the 2025 Eversharp book (by Jon Veley).

Great! Which kind of pencil is the Zebra?

Zebra Bankers is a ballpoint pen. I like these ballpoint pens - called desk ballpoint pen. I don’t like short pencils and pens, I need longer ones.

My darlings here… I really like them

I wish these desk pens had a retraction mechanism but most were used with a pen stand/holder (at the bank) etc. One of my big hopes and letdowns was the Kokuyo Mistral desk pen, because while the slender pencil is a body-knock, the pen is not. Similarly, I have beautiful elongated desk pencils for Sheaffer and Cross but the pens have an always-exposed tip.

Thank you for these details! They are beautiful. Do they use proprietary refills? – One of my favourite writing instruments, the Platinum Carbon pen, has a similiar shape, and sometimes I enjoy using it with a desk stand:

The cap in front is the pen’s standard cap that looks as if someone is wearing a lampshade instead of a hat.

As @drifand said - big pity that they do not have knock mechanism… Zebra uses Zebra refills, Pilot uses Pilot refills - both are still available. Normal simple refills, nothing special… see pic. I do not have/use a stand. I use them as regular - portable - pens.

While looking for the locus leadholder, I came across an auction for the Metaphys cliph that was about to end with no bids… I still haven’t found the leadholder for a reasonable price but at least I’ve got a pocket shoehorn now
I find the design similarities with the locus 3way multipen quite striking.
Behold the metaphysical brothers:

Pocket shoehorn! Hilarious! Some of these lifestyle and everyday luxury/convenience brands try so hard. What a fun pairing though.

Latest shipment from Nippon :japan:
And yes I got the Musk pencil because of how silly it looks and the random text it carries
Favs from the lot- Tombow drafters, quatros and the Uchida.
