The mint color is really superb. It gives me a bit of a vintage industrial vibe. Like old lab instruments.
The Midnight Blue is a nice color too. Just be careful… as some of these colored rOtring 600’s are showing up with occasional cracks in the metal, usual near one of the hex edges close to where the knurled grip screws in. The yellow was notorious for that. Very hard to find examples that didn’t have it. And some people have reported getting examples that looked fine at first, but then a crack would appear later. I suspect some sort of defect in the metal alloy composition at the stress point where the front section screws in. Probably a good idea to avoid screwing it down too tightly. Leave it just barely finger-tight.

It seems that rOtring made the 3 pencil “Trio Pen” for a short period and only for a certain body design of the Trio. I wish they’d made one for the metal 600 Newton (or what is now the 3-in-1).

This week, I have my other Tactile Turn. This one is a limited releases of their switch pen. I wanted the switch pen and something in anodized titanium. Why not both? The switch is quite tactile but not as satisfying as the switch on the USUS Pi. It is a little more crunchy feeling, while Pi is a smooth back and forth springy magnetic feeling. The switch on the Tactile Turn has some clean l clever divoted groves milled into it which interact with the purple plunger on the narrow end, which acts almost like a detent.

To be honest I didn’t like the Ice Mint initially, especially because it clashed with the red text imho. But I saw a seemingly custom-made gift set that contains both Ice Mint and Midnight Blue next to each other. Those 2 together look amazing, and now I’m starting to like the Ice Mint color too
I’ve heard about the cracks, so far none of mine have this issue. I did unscrew and tighten back the grips with less force because actually I thought of the same thing as the potential cause

Yep, when I first saw the ice mint, I was like “meh”… but then it grew on me. I originally saw them as the NONBLE (which I thought was a typo for NOBLE 
), which were a limited collaboration and were always going for fairly hefty prices. Once the same color became available without NONBLE, the prices were better. I haven’t really delved into the colors much. I did get the LoFt yellow, which I discovered in both examples there were cracks–one example VERY obvious, and the other just very slight. I also picked up the metallic white (BP+MP), chocolate MP, one midnight blue BP, and then the ice mint MP. But when I saw people turning up cracks in other colors besides yellow, I got scared off. And so, not seeking out any more… unless they come out with a black and white stripe (alternating for each hexagonal facet)! I was actually thinking of getting the b&w colorway for the rOtring 500. It looks really sharp (pun intended 
).

I quite like the simple, no-nonsense design of this (older) generation of multipens/pencils. However, I prefer the rotation selector mechanism of the current 600 3-in-1 so I would definitely be interested in a multipencil version.

I really liked the Loft yellow first but I talked myself out of it. I only have the Pearl White, Dark Stone, Ice Mint and a not-yet-shipped Midnight Blue. And I think I’ll stop there because I prefer these colors a lot over the rest. I’m a little sad that the Chocolate model is actually just dark red and not a more chocolate-like brown color. I think one like that would have looked sick

Yeah, a few colors is good… but then beyond that and you get into “collection maintenance” loads.
I’m going to see about using some JB weld to carefully fill in the crack and then try to match the paint and cover it. At least on the one that’s noticeable. The other one isn’t too bad. Extreme magnification makes it look much worse.
I forgot that my blue one has a hairline crack… but it could also be a paint imperfection.
Actually the chocolate color looks really nice, at least to my eye. Like a metallic ruddy brown.

I’ve only seen the choco model on photos so idk what the real color might be. I dislike how it looks on photos
Sorry about the cracks. It’s really unfortunate for such expensive products. I wonder tho, do the cracks actually cause problems (right now or in the future) or are they purely visual problems?
Also on the blue one the lead indicator’s window being slightly off-center from the HB mark is midly annoying XD

NPD, among a few… came this 2mm Metaphys Locus in white. The seller didn’t have a photo of the box, but said it came in box. I’d completely forgotten about it. Well, it’s like NOS with all original foam lined plastic box with outer cardboard sleeve. Some slight signs of use, but overall fantastic.
I have the silver version and was hoping one day to pick up the white one… and that day finally came. It’s a glossy white enamel over metal (brass, steel, or what have you). Nice heft, yet not too heavy.
