I have wanted an USUS Pi since I saw one in the Minimalistic but modern pens and USUS, we hardly knew ya threads. A unique design with a very satisfying toggle switch action.
Thus, this is my daily carry for tonight and tomorrow.
Ballograf 0.9 twist internals with H-lead in a brass shell.Another piece of the Korea Pilot puzzle.
The Dipper on the left is a cap knock executive. It came in a whole slew of other colors. The one I’m going for is silver with shallow, etched grid lines, but this one came up so I went for it.
The black drafters in the middle are in impeccable condition. I have these in 0.3 as well. I really like how they have a metal rim around the top of the barrel. Gives them a little more refine look.
The mint green Dark Horse is the last one I’ve recently gotten. I can’t tell yet which model it’s meant to replicate, but it looks very similar to one of the Gimnos. The textured part on the grips of the Gimnos usually don’t go all the way up to the screws though.
Translucent blue x metal grips
• Sun-Star Metal Grip Pro BP
• Pilot S10 0.3mm
• Pentel PG1005 0.5mm Tsutaya limited
• Stabilo Technic 0.7mm
Those are some nice blues.
The thing about ‘blue’ and ‘drafting’ is that it usually gets assigned to 0.7mm. So finding a nice blue drafter in 0.3 or 0.5 is harder than it would seem. Pilot S10 solved both but I wanted differentiated models. Luckily the Graph 1000 Tsutaya limited came along… it isn’t knurled but it will do.
Yes, but… it isn’t translucent ![]()
That is beautiful!
Thanks @Severest and the ricochet off @DarkwingDuck for these Korean exclusive Smashes. I will say I was a bit on the fence but they look perfect in person!
Mitsubishi has no qualms whatsoever about thick pencils. The Metal is reasonable, but these others act like any thickness will do.
Custom grip for the KS model? How much did that cost?
I think this is the UNUS Smart Grip. You can get it here for quite cheap (not an affiliate link).
I got a new shipment in. When I first started collecting I thought I wanted to go for silver and white pencils, but fairly early on after that I changed my mind to focus on black when given the option, so these are all doubles.
I know it sounds a little crazy, but I have to impose arbitrary limits on my collecting criteria.
Very nice color scheme. What is the pen at the top?
Thank you! Schneider K20.
