EDIT: I’ve added a link to the finished video at the bottom
I’m working on a video about the Pentel Smash and I need your help! I’m looking for high-quality, top-down or straight-on pictures of the Smash, just like the style seen in the attached reference image
To ensure consistency in the video, please provide images with a plain white background and a similar perspective to the reference. Please include the model number and release year, if you happen to know them.
I’ll be starting editing when I return from a trip to Denver on Monday, so please submit your photos by next Wednesday, June 3rd.
I’d be incredibly grateful for any contributions! @Riley181 Brian has kicked it off with some awesome pictures of his collection. Of course, I’ll be sure to credit everyone whose photos I use in the video.
Also - if there are any interesting tidbits about the Smash, please feel free to share it here. I am very interested in manufacturing changes etc. to perhaps help people date their pencils. Also am I completely overlooking the date code – or did Pentel decide not to include one on the Smash?
And if you have pictures of boxes, packaging, or anything else please fee free to post or DM me.
I also recently sacrificed a Smash pencil to the trashed gods to see what the internals looked like. Ive been seeing 3rd party custom Wood body turned Smash pencils on Mercari so I can confirm nothing is written or printed on the internal mechanisms
Its amazing what a pair of side snips and a complete disregard for having a working pencil at the end of the amputation of the brass clutch can do.. lol. Ill take pics when I get home
