Video Review: Pentel Smash deep dive

EDIT: I’ve added a link to the finished video at the bottom

I’m working on a video about the Pentel Smash and I need your help! I’m looking for high-quality, top-down or straight-on pictures of the Smash, just like the style seen in the attached reference image

Capture

To ensure consistency in the video, please provide images with a plain white background and a similar perspective to the reference. Please include the model number and release year, if you happen to know them.

I’ll be starting editing when I return from a trip to Denver on Monday, so please submit your photos by next Wednesday, June 3rd.

I’d be incredibly grateful for any contributions! @Riley181 Brian has kicked it off with some awesome pictures of his collection. Of course, I’ll be sure to credit everyone whose photos I use in the video.

Also - if there are any interesting tidbits about the Smash, please feel free to share it here. I am very interested in manufacturing changes etc. to perhaps help people date their pencils. Also am I completely overlooking the date code – or did Pentel decide not to include one on the Smash?
And if you have pictures of boxes, packaging, or anything else please fee free to post or DM me.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am not as familiar with the Date Codes on the Smash. Do you know where they are located, so I can determine the age of the set.

I have not been able to find any date codes. Unless its maybe on the lead tube, but they seem to be glueed in place?

Should we post here or DM you the pictures?

Whatever is easiest for you. If email is easier you can send them to

Thank you!

Thank you!

I also recently sacrificed a Smash pencil to the trashed gods to see what the internals looked like. Ive been seeing 3rd party custom Wood body turned Smash pencils on Mercari so I can confirm nothing is written or printed on the internal mechanisms

Its amazing what a pair of side snips and a complete disregard for having a working pencil at the end of the amputation of the brass clutch can do.. lol. Ill take pics when I get home

I happen to have some stuff about Smash, maybe this can help you out:

This is an old model of Smash, and the printing on its barrel is "Q1005”,and there’s a “0.5” mark on its button.

This is the SEASAR limited edition.

This is an Amazon limited edition, model number Q1005-12A.

These are the latest limited editions, in Diamond Blue(Q1005-LDM1) and Diamond Silver.(Q1005-LDM2).

Hope this helps:blush:
