Thank you
The lady selling it was the toughest negotiator I’ve dealt with yet. I really wouldn’t even call it a negotiation. She essentially told me what she’s willing to come down to and I had to like it. My normal shenanigans had no effect.
I’m happy though
It seems there are not really any sellers outside the US. I guess many make them themselves in small quantities. Does anyone know a source in Europe of more than one color and size?
Now I want a burgundy alpha with lettering
They’re priced way too high and no deals it seems on them.
I’ll make trades for a burgundy alpha and or a gray m5-1006 if there are any biters!!!
That distinctive motif in dark green veined by lighter green tracing on the paper cover of these boxes and drawers has an uncanny resemblance with a couple of wooden pencils I have, namely the Eberhard Faber Design™ Drawing 3800 in 6B. Maybe they recycled it for the pencils as well…
Further up the thread above mine you’ll see @Pdunc67 and his art drawers. But a solid size investment would be a blueprint case, or blueprint cabinet or flat file cabinet. The Venus holder ones are probably store display/point of sale pieces (definitely a great find)
Brand new flat file cabinets are everywhere in wood and metal but eBay is where you can find the old ones.
It won’t take long searching to find many aliases for these things.
Counter top display to sell Venus wood cased pencils of the day ('30’s and onward for some time) . This was the second version of the same basic idea (drawers with degree indication) and a bit more refined. I have the earlier version and will post it…
