Side-stepping into carbide scribers?

Has anyone ‘side-stepped’ into the tungsten carbide scriber world? I have an Engineer TZ-13 Injury Pen (retractable tungsten carbide scriber) in my Amazon cart… waiting to accumulate a few more wants till I pop for it. It has the same appearance as a lead holder and surely some similar internals. It is 138mm, 8mm dia, 36g, aluminum body, and a tungsten carbide rod or ‘needle’.

For the record, I have a Koh-I-Noor Versatile 5347 5.6mm lead holder.

Just shared a bunch of pencils in silver and brown recently, including an Uchida Design Holder, which was made to be a scriber / burnisher - but can hold a piece of 2mm lead just fine.
