Silver X Brown Grips

• Uchida Design Holder 2.0mm
• Pilot H-2083 0.3mm
• Uni5-700 MASTER 0.5mm
• Bigraph Super T 0.5mm
• Kihara 0.7mm
• Pentel S55 0.9mm

Notes:
I got the Uchida Design Holder for cheap coz it had lost all of its markings. The brown rubber grip reminds me a lot of those on COLLEEN Jib double knocks. The pencil is actually meant to hold a metal scriber or ball-tipped burnisher to use with dry transfer lettering etc. As can be seen, it can also hold any standard 2mm lead core. I have also tested it for Pentel’s special size ballpoint refills intended for the Multi-8.

The ‘S59’ is from what I’d imagine was a tumultuous time at Pentel, when they hadn’t figured out if ‘Pentel 5’ referred to their 0.5mm offerings, of if it was a general branding for any of their sharp pencils. Coz, the body definitely showed the etched ‘Pentel 5 FIVE’ mark but the lead size was absolutely 0.9mm. The telltale sticker had probably fallen off by the time it reached my hands, and the only clue as to its true nature is the subtle golden hue of the aluminum upper, a color accent that lived on through the modern era Classic Deluxe S59.

I really wish that Uchida holder had a wood grip. It is a very clean design.
