Here’s the platinum pro use family tree, I think it’s complete. I am missing the MSD-300 (anyone have a spare for sale?)
I do a few questions:
Do we know the years these models were released and the. discontinued?
MSD-300, MSD-500, MSD-1000 & MSD-1500

You’re missing the MSDB-1500 black counterpart to the MSD-1000.

Oh yeah, and the MSDA-1500 series… although technically a 171 model.

I love this documentation method. Thanks for developing this template.

Thanks. Glad it’s helpful.
There is some discussion about the 231 not being released until 2024 on a cross post I made on the subreddit

Thanks @Heath - I was able to find both missing pieces.

That’s a great looking pencil. Is that bronze or gold tint?

Ignore it, I was searching for the Staedtler All Black on Aliexpress and that came up.

That’s the copper special edition which I thought was a MSDA-2500 but looks like it’s a MSDA-3000.

I’m seeing these for the first time…
Is the 231 a wknock??
No, it is a spring cushioned sliding tip with OleEnu lead-support system inside the nose.
Bummer.
Is it all plastic? Super lightweight? If so, is it “quality”? Or just a dinky attempt at pseudo-innovation?
The lower half is definitely metal. For myself, I didn’t get a good impression of it in person because of the rubber grip and the strangely lacklustre colors. The lack of a 0.3 option made me decide against it.
