Guess the brand if you can. Warning, I have borrowed this image from the net.
Ohto
Tricky! Matte silver finish eliminates several brands. Then the slightly technical styling of the tip, and the immediate appearance of knurling above the cone… if nothing else, this series of posts has made me look more closely at my pieces!!
Architetto?
The knurling on it is so fine. That has to be some sort of clue.
No not that.
Getting close to the Answer.
@Vici81 should have the win. I followed his link to learn about this cool Sun-Star that @Raybonche posted on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/mechanicalpencils/s/MMGdP1gqM4
Sure! Even @drifand got the correct answer in the DM. Passing the next round to @Vici81
The pencil is The Sun Star metal Pro model
Kind of a retro drafting grip on a semi transparent body similar to the pilot s10. And the link to the picture above from Ray is the correct one which I cropped! Good eye there @amjacobs7
Thanks. I’ll be able to post a picture only tomorrow morning.
This is fun - and wow, I thought I knew a thing or two about mechanical pencils, but you folks are on another level! Turns out, I don’t know squat compared to the pencil pros here.
The sad part is I only have a ballpoint version of this Sun-Star
The pencil is incredibly hard to track down! Kudos to @Raybonche and also to @Vici81 for the unexpected connection to Architetto!
Brands like these are one of the reasons I love the vintage Japanese stationery world. They really had so many companies making so many designs and variations.
Ever since I saw a red version of this metal pro model I was hooked but never had the luck to finding it on the used market.
