Name that pencil (misdirection edition)

Some kind of budget Zebra or Platinum is my guess.

Oooo! At first I was going to say a Mitsubishi, but realized I had seen a lot rubberized coated Zebras and Platinums that I had glossed over on YAJ and Mercari.

I guess it’s my turn to go. I’ll try to cook something up in the morning.

Ok, here goes. In the spirit of misdirection, here is my submission.

My first hypothesis is the brand Sakura

Incorrect, but I think I know your thought process. Did you think it was a model that begins with a “W?”

Totally out of the blue I will now drop here a couple of misdirected names which came to my mind while looking at the picture:

• Diplomat or Senator
• Inoxcrom (or is it Inoxchrom?)
• Ballograf

I am quite sure it is nowhere near one of these, but who knows? Maybe, by getting purposefully lost in the archipelago of marginal European pencils, I may even find myself closer to the truth…

Nestler Duo?

That is the rough profile of the end, isn’t it? But alas, not that.

Also, it is an Asian brand, so while I commend your shots in the dark, they are geographically a bit far off the mark.

Eolo took the shots…. Though we could all be so lucky to be given credit for Eolo and his genius… he guessed be Europeans

Ah yes, the second paragraph was a reply to Leonov and amja, but I can only technically reply to one person at a time.

Niji Grip

Incorrect. It is a very common design, with some variations in the grip area (usually length and pattern). I’m not sure if they were all made by the same OEM, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were.

Now you’re on the right track. However, not the correct brand.

Sun-star or perhaps a copycat brand called Pacific arc or something?

It’s definitely not a well known brand. Also, it isn’t a Japanese or Korean brand either.
