Name that pencil (misdirection edition)

The game is known to most of you wandering around here: a few pictures are shown, and the race starts.

My challenge for you starts from here (maybe it’s super easy, I do not know; let us see where we get…)

The winner conquers fame and fortune, as usual. Go!

Is there a Kohinoor version of this pencil?

I am pretty sure there are many versions of this pencil — and one might well be from KIN — whence the title of this thread.

Not the one in my pictures, though. This does not show any mark from Koh-I-Noor over its body.

That’s a Scrikss-y tip…

It certainly looks like one. But is it?

The misdirection is working. I can only imagine how fiercely you will all jump to my throat when the solution will be revealed, but so far you are not there yet.

Is it a Hex-o-matic?

Welcome Avon

Is it a rotring 600 retail display dummy?

is it one of those Chinese knockoffs like redcircle or nicpro?

Glad to see so many names and so many proposals; so far, you may all be right, but no one got it perfectly, which means that the chase continues.

Hex-O-Matic? Not according to the information I have — the pencil came in its own box, with the name of the company supposedly distributing (and branding) the item.

rOtring 600? Well, this would have meant quite an amount of misdirection… No, not a rOtring 600, nor a 500, nor one of those intermediate models like 505, 400 etc. It is for sure a relative of that lineup, but no reference to the German manufacturer.

Also, the original box does not mention China in any way, shape or form, so no Redcircle, nor Nicpro.

I assume that the boundary of possible candidates is shrinking by the minute. In a sense, as I said, you are all right — you do know what the heck this pencil is — but the correct answer is still floating somewhere.

If no one gets it by the end of Friday 18th, I shall post the solution. Bonus/partial points to the first one framing the country this specimen comes from (at least according to the label on the box).

Is it Korean? The pencils @Severest just posted on his desk resembles all brands. Is yours micro or jedo?

I hesitate to say a German name like bigraph or aurograph because they seem too obvious due to proximity but they’re also possible.

Yes, indeed! The pencil is Korean. And the model is from the Micro company. @DarkwingDuck nailed it!

As far as I remember — but I don’t have the pencil with me to confirm — the model is called:

M.I.T. 3000 by “Micro of Illuminant Technology” (or “Technologies”)

Basically, a rOtring variant, but with some quirks: the barrel is coated with some rubberised layer, the knurling is a bit smoother, the feeling is a bit different. Pictures of the box and accessories (two lead containers) will be available soon.

Wait, is that another rubberised coating? The barrel looks like the one from a Staedtler, but the colour does not ring any bell.

It reminds me of some Sakuras, but the plunger rear-button is different on the models I know of.

I have this feeling of being… misdirected!

Yes

All the other observations, No

Misdirection maybe….

Wait, is that a Berol, or some American relative?

Nope not a Berol

Also, only hint, it’s a well known manufacturer.

Lamy?
