Yesterday, the Zebra Tect 2way RO arrived, and I couldn’t resist applying the modification that @drifand mentioned in the chat, namely swapping the grips.
I used a Hi-Note KARAKAZE 01 for this. – When using a Tect 2way Light for the mod, there is a small gap between the grip and the chrome ring. This gap can be filled with a rubber ring from the grip of the Light version. The combination of matte and chrome-plated metal parts looks a little strange, but I still like the result.

Nice! I went to my local store and picked out the black, graphite and silver for this first run. Still unsure if I wanted the blue or the white, but… no rush! These are not limited runs.

They are really nice, but overpriced in my opinion. At 2500 yen, they cost twice as much as the regular version, and I don’t think the grip justifies that price. I do like the RO version though!
Edit: Awful English wording corrected
Addendum: I find the diamond knurling very pleasant. It is slightly rougher than that of the Pentel GraphGear 500, but smoother than that of the Rotring 600 or the current Koh-I-Noor 563x.

Got one yesterday. Disappointed to say I see no clear benefit over the standard model and even the coloured LEs which I think feels less clunky when locked and they already have a metal grip section. Visually, I like the other models better too, with the rubber rings and all. The RO feels a bit like a collector’s trap to me (in that regard being no different from dozens of other models and LEs that have been produced lately).
Edit: also, no idea what RO means..

RO = ROulette, i.e. ‘knurling’

I think you’re right about that. The RO is a nice pencil but overpriced, and my initial enthusiasm has faded.
