Zebra Tect 2way limited black colorways

If you know the Tect 2way, there’s nothing much to add! Same cool sci-fi styling, lockable shaker, and too light knocking feel… since 2007! And this all-black plus vibrant color accent scheme is my favorite version of it. From L-R:

Black / Silver
Black / Gold
Black / Pink
Black / Red
Black / Orange
Black / Green
Black / Turquoise
Black / Light Blue
Black / Blue
Black / Black

Most of these were made in 2017 for Coach and Four, a lifestyle boutique that curiously isn’t found in Tokyo but in other parts of Japan. So, even when I learned about these limited edition colors, it took a very long time to find some of these colorways, especially the pink, turquoise and light blue versions.

I skipped most of the 0.3 versions as they featured a gunmetal upper that just didn’t feel as coherent a scheme as the all-black 0.5 editions. I can imagine a purple, darker green or yellow accent if Zebra is taking notes. That’s all for now.

fantastic picture. I wonder why only 3 of the 5 grooves have rubber rings?

If you’ve tried removing the rings you will discover that the 3 grooves for the silicone rings are cut much deeper than the 2 grooves without rings. My guess is that the 2 shallow grooves are for additional tactility while limiting the design to 3 rings reduces the cost of production. I wonder if the rings are slipped on manually in the factory? When I store my Tect 2ways in a folio, the elastic loops can sometimes cause the rings to slip off when pulling a pencil out…
