Here’s to another 1500!
#1 Aimvision Pro 05 — Brilliant piece in all aspects.
#2 Aimvision 05 — People say it’s not worth it as a mid tier pencil… hmm.. I like it.
#3 Unknown — Kinda matches the #4 Flat-C perfectly, imo. Has a similar flat clip / same action.
#5 Platinum 171 — The Aimvision is quite expensive and that makes it a desk piece by default, right? So I’m starting to consider the 171 is the best go around pencil that has come out in recent years. This blue model is nicer that the all black one.
#6 Ballpoint pen designed by local architect Souto de Moura — it’s basically a machined unibody housing a BIC refill. Disappointing and very useful at the same time, since I’m a BIC fan and it’s one of my favourite mark making tools for drawings
#7 The Capless Jinhao fountain pen — What looks initially like a slightly bizarre instrument (with the tip near the clip, which is weird and upside down), is in fact a wonderful pen, with a warm plastic feel, very well put together and a reliable tool for writing. Love everything about it, it has become my workhorse pen.
#8 Vintage piston ballpoint from Platinum — a very interesting, collector’s item with a superlative design
#9 Vintage Waterman JIF ballpoint/roller — They were relatively popular in the 80s here
10# 3€ very okay hexagonal brass pen from Temu
This is the MUJI Aluminum Hexagonal Flat Clip Pen / Pencil, made by OHTO from around 2010. Check out this entry on Bleistift!
Oh nice – Thanks!
Nice. I have not seen that version of the bat pencil. What is the model number? It looks longer than PBS1.
Oh wow! I think I’ve only seen that Mizuna in a Japanese blog post.
A great selection! Which 2 mm leads do you use?
I feel like he’s a strictly Staedtler guy when it comes to 2mm lead
Did someone mention 2mm lead (holders)? I really don’t care for them

Oh yeah, thanks to Allen, Eolo, Dan, Michal, and Hammer_Jackson for helping me flatten out my wallet! ![]()
Thank you! As @DarkwingDuck expected I use Staedtler Lumograph. I once bought so many that I’ll probably have enough for the rest of my life. However, I’d like to try others, any tips?
Lacking that first gen 5616….
