Here I was thinking Uni had the perfect orange, but it is Staedtler after all.

If I were to be limited to 1 pencil with me at once, I would take a versatile 0.4mm any day. But with the luxury of being able to carry both a 0.3 and a 0.5, as a non-professional, my use cases of a 0.4 gets completely eliminated.

These are the only 0.4 MPs I have now.

Nice score! I think these are my favorite version of the Tombow Runner auto, coz of the dot and triangle accents…

Agreed. Award for coolest design of a cheapie auto goes to Tombow SH-JJ. The button to remove the mechanism is clumsy in a cute way. So rudimentary. It’s too bad the colored plastic has the worst UV fading in all of pencildom.

Managed to find these Ohto Body Knocks (SP-1000B) still in stock on a Greek website. Connected with a reputable local proxy buyer on Reddit and they sent them my way. They finally arrived today.

They are definitely something to behold. Maybe not the most comfortable to hold, as Ohto intended them to be held, but interesting nonetheless. I especially like the screw on cap. It got me thinking, how many pencils out there have also have a screw on cap? The Pilot AutomacE500 was the only one I could think of that was ready at hand.

They feel more premium than their price suggests, but at the end of the day, like others have said, they are a little too wiggly in some places and loose in others.

OHTO always confounds with little decisions that make the product look half-thought out. Look at the black model of the Body Knock: WHY is the lower grip at minimum not black??? I can understand cheaping out on the mid-section where it will scrape against the inner walls but really?

More appealing orange…LISTO center drive from the '30’s ( not a grease pencil…)

Sakura Intaglio grip detail versus Sailor Pasta sharp (1990s).

Center drive? Do you mean to say the black band in the middle can be twisted to advance lead?
