just wondering if anyone has a favorite Nintendo franchise, as i am quite a big Nintendo fan myself!
MegaMan!
Clay Fighter!
Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong. Kong was especially strong with my siblings in the 80s with the Game & Watch series. I had the Mario Brothers bottling factory G&W and loved it until I lost the fucking thing (I’m still bitter).
I had to like the NES from a distance because my parents refused to buy it.
I managed to successfully beg for an original Game Boy. Still have it but the screen has come off due to the glue defect and I left batteries in it. It’s basically cactus. I also had a Sydney 2000 GB Colour but now I can’t find that either, despite searching high and low through my childhood home. I suspect my bitch sister stole it for her kid. Anyway, I bought a working GB Colour off eBay last year to play my old games again. I never finished ‘The Hunt For Red October’ when I was a kid but managed to do it on my 3rd attempt with the ‘new’ GB.
After the original GB, we also had a SNES. I remember being incredibly frustrated with Super Mario: The Lost Levels. I also very clearly remember playing Donkey Kong Country. What an incredible game that was for the time!
I sold the SNES for some spare cash and have regretted it ever since, but it was gathering dust at the time because we had acquired an N64. Goldeneye consumed so much of my spare time back then. I knew The Bunker and The Facility and was unbeatable amongst my friends and brothers - to the extent they’d refuse to play me on those levels. I recall spending excessive hours finishing a playthrough on 00 agent difficulty.
Zelda frustrated the crap out of me as a kid, up until Ocarina of Time and walkthrough guides and then the Internet. Anyone else remember the water temple?
Sorry for the long post.
Starfox and Metroid
Blast Corp and Tetrisphere were a lot of fun
