Unknown pencil stand

This figure has been standing on my desk for many years, holding a pencil at the ready.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t been able to find out where it comes from, and the ‘Made in Germany’ sticker on the bottom hasn’t helped me either (I don’t remember where I bought this figure either). I suspect that it’s a promotional figure that doesn’t necessarily have to come from Germany, and it may have originally held something completely different.
Does anyone know more?

This is the manufacturer. For some reason these are imported to japan a lot, which I found quite interesting. Maybe there’s some history to it.

Update 1: I wrote them an email, maybe we’ll get an answer after the 6th of January about it.

Thank you, also for the link!

On the linked website it reads: “This is a reproduction of a pen stand originally created as a promotional item by a German pharmaceutical company.” I wonder which pharmaceutical company this is! I have contacted Alfred Fischer, the maker, and I am eager to hear the answer.

Did you get an answer? I didn’t.

Me neither. Who knows if they are even still manufacturing anything anymore or if it’s just a shell. Maybe they lost the information with time and as the owner changed.

I called the manufacturer a while ago. The employee I spoke to is familiar with this figurine and told me that it has been available in various versions since the 1980s, but she knows nothing about any connection to a pharmaceutical company. She also said that this figurine is still in the product range and sent me a current catalogue, but it did not list the figurine.

What sharpener did you use on the Staedtler?

I used the Pollux from Möbius+Ruppert.
