Iβm seeing specimens out there with β0.5β notation next to the retraction pushbutton, but then I also see others without the 0.5.
At first, I figured this was simply because the text was worn off on well-used pieces, but now Iβm starting to think rOtring released versions with and without the notation.
Anyone else have insight here?

Here is some information I found on the rOtring Museum History page: https://rotringmuseum.com/history.php
β’ The Metallic Double Push is first seen in 1985 catalog (silver 0.5mm) with silver ring and red letters βrotringβ near ring.
β’ In 1987 was available in silver, blue, black and red. The ring and the letters for all colors except silver were silver. The silver one remained with red letters.
β’ In 1990 0.7mm was available in silver, blue, black and red. The ring changed to red and no rotring letters on body except size near push bottom.
β’ In 1992 the Metallic Double Push is replaced by 400 series
β’ In 1996. 400 series is then replaced by ESPRIT.
I ran across this information while trying to date this pencil:

Based on the information above I am assuming that the my specimen is from somewhere between 1990-1992.
