The BOXY Files: THE STICK & SPECIAL M5-502

Is there a boxier BOXY than THE STICK? Or its ’premium’ 500-yen ‘SPECIAL’ version? Mechanically, they are nothing special, although they do sport metal clutches. The ‘SPECIAL’ just tries to bling things up with a metal printed pattern on the grip, plus an actual metal clip. And that’s it.

Something about their vague resemblance to an old school stick shift made me store them in this BOXY pen case that also has touches of sports car elements: silver pleather, black injection molded base that looks like a floor mat, and hot red piping detail.

Still looking for a white STICK or SPECIAL, but the few recent examples are terribly yellowed.

Green, blue, and yellow are hard enough to find; white seems like a unicorn at this point (especially the SPECIAL).

There’s a white SPECIAL out there on Mercari or YJA. The sticker is gone but the tan lines it left behind are ‘spectacular’.

I was soooo tempted to get the sun damaged one on Mercari and then attempt to bleach it back. I’m glad I didn’t have to. :face_exhaling:

The SPECIAL trio is exactly that.
