Sunstar nocfree metal

Sun-Star is releasing a new mechanical pencil called nocfree metal this August, featuring an auto-lead advance mechanism.
Let’s hope it won’t be as poorly made as the no-noc was.

Dang
I like that
I have a no noc that I got really cheap and regardless of its construction, I really like the pencils that advance the lead when pressure is placed on the tip/sleeve.
For me personally, (which could be a lie I tell myself) it’s my kind of “automatic “ mechanism because I can wrap my head around it.
They are more accessible so they’re easier to covet but still, I like them because of their accessibility and lower price point.
I don’t feel the need to “protect” them as much.

I’ve sold thousands of mechanical pencils over the years, and while the no-noc has a lot of fans, it’s also the pencil we’ve received the most complaints about.
Many people say it’s understandable because it’s a budget model, but even so, the failure rate was just too high.
The new nocfree is priced at 1,500 yen, so I’m hoping it won’t suffer from the same issues.

When will we be able to purchase?

It’s scheduled to be released in August.

If the auto mechanism is by OHTO, I’d be worried. They made an alu-body sharp for MUJI around 2014? and the pencils on display were always jammed… I’m still thinking about modifying the No-Noc into a normal sharp using multipen parts.

Since it’s a higher-end model of the already released nocfree, I assume it uses the same internal mechanism.
That said, I don’t own a nocfree myself, so I haven’t been able to confirm this…
