Sun-Star… makers of cheap and gaudy stationery emblazoned with character mascots. And sometimes, tasteful designs.
The Sharple or shapuru as it is called is an all plastic affair that just happens to sport an air of credibility: hex body, minimalist grooves on grip, and some pretty nifty milling on the metal droplet cone.
The ‘non character’ version actually comes clipless and with a black button. Those with the exposed eraser nubs were sold with a heart shaped clip with a trendy duo called ‘Pink Lady’ stickered on. Needless to say, I pulled off the clips.
Also happens to have the same colors as the Pilot H230 trio I just shared. Will keep looking for more of these!

The tip profile is very original. Can you show the gaudy clips and the eraser caps?

These are very nice, do you have one left to trade?

Actually I do have a couple spares but those are in purple and the yellow may not be that vibrant. I will take some photos.

Oh yes, I would like to see them please.
Here are two spares that I have for the Sun-Star Sharple, complete with the removable Pink Lady heart clips. There is a small spot of damage on the yellow one at the tail end. The eraser for the purple one is missing.

I’ve been trying to acquire a few different versions of Sun-Star drafting pencils (in the 0.5-0.3) category, but they always seem to slip through my fingers…
I have ONE version. It’s clear, a 0.3, and was cheap. But STILL quality.
I’m saying all of this to ask: are “Sun-Star” products listed on YAJ or Mercari Japan under a different name??
I can’t seem to find them
I think the problem is that some / many of Sun-Star’s MPs are not listed as ‘Sun-Star’. Very often they are part of a large bundle. I even searched under ‘Pink Lady’ souvenirs, for example. Many times, my finds are by chance.

I don’t forget that I have talked about trade and you have kindly considered it and shared these pics, maybe I will find among my junk something to trade that may interest you.
You like green, don’t you?
