It’s been a bit of a whirlwind for me over the last couple of months with some health issues and fewer shipments from Japan. I have been able to update my collection ever since I’ve found the white version which was authenticated by Staedtler as made by them.
So this inadvertent collection I have stumbled on has grown in number in size but as elusive as they are, I have never seen some of these for sale in my life and when I went looking, they just showed up for me and at a decent price nonetheless. The Retro De Luxe was a surprise and I wasn’t even on my hit list of must haves!
But I know you all see the space. That’s right I’m on a quest for a Magenta to complete the series! (gen 1 only!). but to think the White one is actually real and only FOUR (4) of them exist and it’s amazingly authenticated and Staedtler has been the most amazing company!
So with that I’ve decided to make a 3D case for the series with a 3D printer that will look like the old sales man brief cases they used to have with demo units.
So it’s been very exciting and it’s teaching me how to render things in 3D!
I figured because I wanted something real custom that will have lights and special place for the white one. I have a pretty cool concept down on paper and I’m ready to start blocking the spaces. I just need a digital caliper to get precise measurements so that it looks like it was made by Staedtler. Sometimes you gotta go all in, and since I am basically the “retro”s biggest fan… really Staedtler told me, “it wasn’t popular”!
I just lost that one on an auction because I had to practice with my stupid band! Someone else bought it for $16. If I see another one I will keep you in mind.
Now tell me, will you let me hustle the pen off you? I’ve always wanted a metal set that I could have and write my Journals with. Consider it a dying man’s wish lol!
