Mitsubishi Hi-Pitch (???)
The burgundy color one is a “Golden axe” , see the thread here:
The Uni burgundy should logically be an M3-50? I’ve got one in a uni Hi-Pitch Holder sleeve…
You really have some Gems!
@drifand logically yes, but I am really not sure, check this link: Mitsubishi Mechanical Pencil M3-50 0.3mm
And yes, I got it in sleeve “Hi-Pitch” also. It was sleeve of Holder, I don’t think so… (?)
M5-30 are my favorite ones. Better feeling in my hands than M5-50
I remember
M5-35 are mine
Maybe they made a Golden Axe in that style pencil as well.
I guess that lettering “Golden Axe” is similar to lettering “DEMI-.5 Deluxe Japan” which you can see on some M5-50 imported to US (as noticed @drifand on reddit).
For me it is still the same pencil (model) which have “a specifying lettering” only. Maybee it is specifics of import (?)
@DarkwingDuck Really Thank You!
I have two Golden Axes, both in similar packaging (expanded polystyrene tray and clear plastic sleeve with gold lettering) which clearly shows they were made by Mitsubishi Pencil Co Ltd.
The lettering on each pencil is slightly different, and I have seen a third version in the same packaging with a different inscription again. It suggests to me that this simple black model - I’m unsure of the model number - was manufactured for some years.
Mine came in a case like that. Idk what it is about the obscure ones but I like them more.
What happened is that Mitsubishi reused the designations of its M3-50, M5-50, and other pencils. For example, this one is also a Mitsubishi M5-50
Those lead containers… I am quite sure I have seen them repurposed for Nestler lead cores (recycling, before it was cool), but I think it was a black box with blue lid (?!). I have to dig the lead inventory and retrieve the box.
Really strange… Why did they do that? So in this case, burgundy 0.3 mm in my pictures could be M3-50…
Thanks, nice piece, I have seen it the first time. About lettering on the pencil and your comment: I think we see it the same way.
