Sakura 12x / Retrico

The Sakura Retrico looks very similar to the discontinued Sakura 12x but has a plastic clutch. Does anyone know if the 12x also had a plastic clutch?

The older XS-125/7/9 had a metal clutch

Thank you! It’s a shame that there are more and more pencils with plastic clutch.

My Sakura 123 has a metal clutch. That pencil has been on the market with a variety of brands, I have the same Ecobra, Alvin also has the same model, I wonder who the OEM is?

Thank you for the photos and the details! I also notice that the old shade of yellow was more vibrant than the new one, which is almost a bit pastel. – Regarding the OEM: Maybe it was Kotobuki.

May I ask what can be seen in the background? I am curious

Distribution of prime numbers, primes in red, 6n in blue; a hobby of mine.

Around here the local stores still sell these Sakura 12x.

One of my earliest mini quests was seeking out all the 0.5mm color variants from local bookstores to use them as a set of color lead MPs.

Wow!

That’s great! I have just ordered two at AliExpress.

That’s a nice quest!

I managed to get a 0.5 and 0.7 that had a brass clutch on Amazon. I hope to get the other 0.5mm color variants at some point that have a brass clutch. I like the minimalism!

The pastel-colored ones are available on Aliexpress for one dollar; look for Sakura mechanical pencils. It’s a very good pencil, by the way; it has a very pleasant button action and a nice click. I’d also like to add that this same model comes in the Alvin and Ecobra brands. I’d like to know who the OEM is.
