A friend will be in China for a month and has offered to pick up a few pencils.
Are there any pencils that are not exported, but would be easy for her to find?
I’m Chinese.I think the pencils in China are boring. They are cheap and of low quality.
fair enough - I was hoping that wasn’t the case, but thank you.
I have a few Three Star pencils I’d like in my collection but I don’t know that they are or are not more easily found in China
There was that metal ‘JIAN CHUANG’ version of the plastic Sun-Star Topull? But I don’t know where you can buy it from a physical store.
not exactly chinese pencils but there are sellers on taobao selling vintage pencils that are otherwise hard to find ![]()
thanks, @Neroaddict - welcome to the forum!
thanks!
THREESTAR MPs produced in the 1990s are easily available on platforms such as Taobao and AliExpress. However, those from the 1980s—especially the early versions of many models in the early 1980s (THREESTAR 700, the brand’s first fine-lead MP, was launched in 1980)—can generally only be purchased on second-hand shopping websites in China, such as Xianyu, 7788, and Kongfz, with very low frequency of being found, and there is a lack of purchasing agent channels for them. Some second-hand shopping websites in Eastern Europe, like OLX, occasionally have late-1980s versions.
That’s a shame
They aren’t the highest quality but I still really like them and want more of them.
I found these two from Bulgaria.
Very nice!
