Random Photos - Oct 2024 edition

One of my work benches. Mainly for cutting, drawing, wrapping up pencils to dispatch. Stuff that doesn’t involve paints, liquids or glues.

These are my vintage leads. Sorry for the poor-quality photo. A family member found them at the take-it-or-leave-it section of the dump in our town and brought me them. I doubt they are anything special but I think they are cool. Of course I’m not planning on using them - in fact I’m not sure I even have pencils that could take them. I like them, though.

My daughter has a peanut allergy, so now I’m racist against peanuts :pensive:

There is something kind of wonderful about chocolate & peanut butter together. There’s even a gourmet version. Had a French truffle with goey chocolate cream on the inside covered with a firm peanut butter shell… unbelievably good!

What pencil is this?

I so don’t get the peanut butter obsession of Americans. Give me a double-coat Tim Tam any day over a Reese’s. Even better with a coffee… ala Tim Tam slam.

It’s an etched Newman. Would’ve been cheap (< ¥4500) until early 2023. Probably over ¥15,000 now.

I slam them with tea. But not so easy to get Tim Tams in the US.

It’s also known colloquially as ‘ladder etched’ and the current buy-it-now price is 30,000 yen.

Here in Virginia, I have seen Tim Tams at both Sam’s Club and TJ Maxx
