Random Photos: July 2023 Edition

That’s cool, I grew up in Dover, NH, so very familiar with the Hampton beaches. That whole strip of Rt 1 along the coastline is just amazing. I live in Gray, ME which is about 25mins up 95 north of Portland. Came to Maine for school in 1993 and never left - I love it here.

One of my favorite types of flowers is the hibiscus (almost as much as orchids). There’s a number of varieties in colors and patterns… but I always have a weak spot for the traditional solid red.

The ornate stamen is something that always draws my eye. It’s spectacular up close. A complicated structure. It’s so amazing what nature creates.

But faded yellow with red center has a wonderful look to it as well.

Wow those are beautiful photos.

I love the hibiscus as well. My sleeve has two hibiscus flowers, 4 plumerias flowers, and a bird of paradise.

Thanks. The flowers did most of the work. :smirk::crazy_face::joy:
All about framing and lighting. A full cloudy day with moderate brightness makes for phenomenal photographic opportunities. I enjoy playing with shadows and contrast too. Took another today with amazing contrast, the pedals in the shade with the stamen lit up by the sun.

Sounds like a very colorful shirt you’re wearing. :smirk::smile:

(yeah, I know, you meant pen sleeve!)

One of those realistic arm-stocking deals that makes it look like you’ve got tattoos?

(btw, sorry I posted to July… feel free to move stuff to August!)
