almost true
I just paid the shipping from ZenMarket today.
Me neither. No pencils, sir, no sir, no.
But, and this is probably saying something, I had to double check my activity in the last few days to be sure about this reply (some key acquisitions occurred before Dec. 31st).
In fact, I bought a pen on Jan. 2nd.
I have a bad feeling about this…
I recently attended an event in Manhattan (New York City) that was held at the Lotos Club. It’s one of the oldest literary and art clubs in the USA (founded in 1870). Renowned author Samuel Clemens was an early member and called it “The Ace of Clubs.” Its first location was a brownstone near the original Academy of Music. Since then it moved to a few other locations over the years. The 66th street location where it now resides was established in 1947, occupying this five-story mansion replete with fine examples of French Renaissance architecture. It was built in 1900 by the elite wealthy Vanderbilt family. The club remained since its inception as a men’s club, but in 1977 it finally broke with that tradition and welcomed women as members as well. You can learn more about its history, HERE.
I took a number of photos of the interior. It was so regal and stately. Here’s a few photos I can share (no people in them, for obvious reasons):
