Does anyone know when the Pilot SHARPEN HY-50R and Laureate were sold?
And - does this red look faded? I have a red and black Laureate on the way. Was there a white or any other colors?
BTW - it really bothers me that the text on the pencils and pens are facing the opposite direction

LAUREATE text reads fine when you post the cap and point the tip down? BTW, the cap is interchangeable between the pen and sharp.
The LAUREATE pen won the Good Design Award in 1984, same year it was awarded to the Quatro roller, which uses the same LAUREATE refill. There are 9 colors that I know of:
Aqua
Black
Blue - not in pic
Ivory - not in pic
Navy
Peach - not in pic
Red
Yellow
Olive

But when they are posted and being used the text is in the same direction while holding it.
I guess Pilot didn’t subscribe to Staedtler’s way?
Maybe the designer just liked his own work too much!
