Pilot H1005 and other pencils for sale

Hi, I just found this lot of pencils and looking to sell. Two Pilot H1005’s. Early version faux woodgrain and no labels. Thanks for any offers. I may keep one H1005 because it’s my first one and I’m in love!

Welcome @Djkitcher

Can I see the molding cutout of the p205 above the grip?

Does it say p205 embossed in it?

2mm sleeve too. I have one with 2mm sleeve, but mine does not have PENTEL down the clip. Places mine a few months later in production than the one in @Djkitcher’s picture, I suppose. @Djkitcher, what is the date code on the lead reservoir?

Would be interesting to know what month Pentel production line switched to the new clips. Maybe @nimrodd already knows.

Maybe… he says he’s putting it on eBay, it’s anyone’s pencil if they want it!!!

One like that will not have a date code. That did not start until December 1975.

The 2mm sleeve was used up to Generation 2. They switched to the 4mm sleeve during Gen 2.

There is no way to know when the changeover on the clips was done. Pentel used older clips until they ran out across a wide range of product.

Well a bit more than $20 that’s for sure..

Good spot!

The reason it’s so hard to find comps for a first generation p205 is because very few people outside of this forum actually care about that or are willing to pay extra for 1st gen. Also worth noting “Generation 1/1a” is a term that @nimrodd came up with to describe the history of this model and isn’t really recognized outside of this community or by Pentel. No one is going to pay hundreds for a p205, especially people who are not a big enough mech pen nerd to be on this forum.

Also, not trying to be rude or confrontational, just trying to give some realistic perspective. Wish you all the best on getting the most you can for these.
