Bought this PILOT tray off Mercari on a whim and then realized when it arrived that it had 24 30 slots to fill.

I’m a stickler for keeping only Pilot pens in Pilot trays, so when a H-589 finally arrived, I had enough pieces to fill out the ranks. The 1+1 could be seen as an aberration perhaps, but I felt the similar style of lattice grip qualified it for a place at the table.

Interesting note: the caps actually have irregular fittings. Some sit taller than others and it was driving me nuts, so I manually ‘lifted’ some to better align with the tallest one in the subset.

This is such a cool shot—I don’t think I’ve seen a seen a tray that could fit 30 pieces wide before!

And the cap height struggle is real :joy:

Beautiful tray!!!

-but I will agree that the multi pen is sacrilegious…

-the HF-605 being included is something I can get behind though :call_me_hand:

Beautiful pics as well. Is there a certain category on YAJ or Mercari that these trays can be found??

I’d love one/some, but I they never seem to cross my path

I first came across such trays when I cast a WIDE net for ‘パイロット’ - and not filtering it down to ‘Writing Instruments’.

The consistency in the length of these models is impressive. What is the length of H-58X series?

I never measure my pencils. But… the consistency is because I wrangled the buttons to align them for the shot. Some are slightly shorter or taller than others.
