Full disassemble and fix.
E and E 500 is almost same, but only one part is different.
When you compare the part located at the bottom left of the first image with that in the second image, you can notice some differences. The “E” model uses a single-piece component for this section, whereas the “E 500” model features an improved design composed of three separate parts.
In the “E” model, graphite buildup inside the clutch can cause the lead to be pushed backward. The upgraded part in the “E 500” prevents this issue. Additionally, it also stops the small ball bearings inside the clutch from moving out of place.
The brass internal components are fitted very tightly and are quite thin, making them prone to cracking. One of the main reasons for frequent malfunctions was due to these cracks causing internal parts to lose their correct positioning.
Although the “E 500” has more components and is more complex to repair, when it functions properly, it is a very high-quality mechanical pencil.
