Yes. For 3k yen model, I have seen at least 5 in all: pink, blue, brown, light green, light grey. Then 5k matte grey/black. The silver model can be roughly grouped into three price levels, 8/10/15k yen. And there are at least 2 fluted gold model for 20k+ yen.
As for how many model/version of Platinum Z ever existed (If any variations are counted), I think there are at least 20, plus 3 special versions (金研工房)

Any clues? I can’t image that :joy:

We might have to wait for someone like @xiaozhenyang4444 to release a comprehensive book. The cost of acquiring and/or examining and photographing the full line-up, or simply connecting the dots with other collectors within travelling distance is quite a challenge.

I had a great enthusiastic collecting the Platinum Z back to the 2019, more than 30 pcs, but I kinda lost interest on them today

You can ‘lose’ them even more with us!
I think some kind of group shot will be amazing!

In fact I’ve already sold 2/3 of them during the past years, I am keeping around 12 pcs now. It wobbles crazily and the Archi Y2 obviously did a much better job in comparison.

That was your consistent experience for all of your Platinum Z mechanical pencils? I thought I had two of them, but… turns out it’s only 1. The other 4 are ballpoints. There is some tip wobble that I can detect if I force it with my fingers, but in writing it’s really not perceptible. In contrast the ballpoints are quite firm.

I agree that the Archi Y2 is superior for both BP and MP compared to the Z. Y2 goes one up on the Z by extending the sprung clip when you twist beyond the stowed position. But I still like the less ornate Z models because of the telescoping tip… sexy!
