Nobody mentioned these while they were up for auction, but I [1] love body knocks and [2] was intrigued by these because I’d never even heard of a Pentel body knock before.
They appear to have excellent constructions, fine finishes, and lovely tips I’ve never seen on any Pentels before.
Low-key feels like I scored a helluva deal, but I’m curious what y’all think.
Yes, that internal mechanism is only found on body knocks. Also, I don’t see a push knock anywhere, but the internals are the giveaway.
I agree the absence of Pentel branding is odd, but the printing in photo 6 is also unmistakably Pentel in origin. Here are other auctions for WINDOM pencils:
The body shape looks identical to the most executive-looking Kokuyo body knock (there are 4 distinct styles of Mistrals; the Pentel matches the most sophisticated, corporate-looking style).
Nice score on those. Hadn’t seen Pentel use this body knock design on any other models, so I also have to wonder if this was outsourced from another maker, like KOKUYO. Looks somewhat like a later Mistral.
