I can find them for you in excellent condition for maximum $70 a piece any color
Do NOT pay those amounts!
Why others want more? I have no idea. I do think it’s a very nice push tip mechanism though. I like the plastic they used, I like the weight of it. I also really like the blue and green shade.
(I edited it because I felt it came off as aggressive, I’m a soft hearted soul. I can find them easily though)
As someone who’s very new to them: they’re a uniquecly collectable ‘pop’ pencil. A nice entry to vintage collecting. Possible to find, strange enough to want. Still. They’re finite, and over 35 years old. Whether they’re worth +$100 idk.
I have the black variant. A certain member here once promised one of his spare greens to me, many moons ago, but we’ve never managed to finalise the trade
I’m really on the fence about completing the set. Even at $70 USD, I’m still reluctant, but that price is so much more reasonable.
Will keep your comment in mind. Thanks for commenting.
Understandably, one rule for myself that I have in these situations is that I will not take a chance on any pencil, especially if it’s expensive, unless I’m certain I can quickly sell it at the price that I paid minimum.
These sell fairly quickly at that price.
I found one in dark grey/black, offered to me for sale by a guy I knew from Vinted, who trades in writing instruments and finds any sorts of vintage mechanical pencils — I bought a few pieces from him at very competitive prices, including a marine blue Alpha Matic — and he asked around 20$ for the Technoclic that time (but he also asked 15$ for a new-version black Automac, so his whole business model is skewed towards fast-moving of bulks of items).
This seemed to me a fair price, especially compared to the final impression of the pencil: I like some of its features, but there are other aspects which bother me, especially for longer notetaking sessions.
Some models are really skyrocketing these days, and it is hard for me to wrap my head around some of these increases. Case in point: a specimen I got in Venice, Italy, for probably 6-8€, which the Asian market seems to value more — or perhaps it is just a spike…
