Some quick pics of my modified Clear Clics.
And some colors.
So nice. I love seeing them all together like that
Thst is an interesting case/stand - can you tell more about it?
Ridiculously awesome!
I just died and went to heaven.
We need to get Pentel eyes on this… take my money!!!
Are these Tradio tips? Some of the coolest mods I’ve ever seen
Awesome! I can’t believe you found even more matching erasers! I wonder if you can find as many colored leads?? As Pdunc asked - any details on the stand?
It’s an original (but broken) Pentel display case I got from Japan. I don’t know what it was originally used for, but the seller said it is about 30 years old. They also said it was used for Smash pencils, but I don’t know if they meant originally or how they used it. It has a few stickers showing prices of either 1000 or 500 yen.
I added a 25-foot LED light strip inside the back of the case.
Thanks.
Looks great!
Yes, Tradio tips. They feel great to write with.
I found/borrowed/traded the erasers from my kids’ Crayola erasable colored pencils! They pull out fairly easy. (I put some of the white PDE-1 erasers back in their pencils.) I actually ordered some Ticonderoga pastel colored pencils to do the same, but the first eraser I pulled out broke in the process. (I will use a tool to bend out the metal on the next attempt.)
I haven’t looked for colored leads, but that would be pretty cool!
There is a certain variety of 0.5 coloured lead around, but less than in the past. On top of my head, I think Staedtler had not only (dark) blue, red, green, brown, and yellow, but also non-photo blue (azure) and non-print (purple) in 0.5; I also remember stuff from Pentel (probably for the Quicker Clicker themselves) in hues like orange, pink, maybe violet and something else, again in 0.5.
Today I see fewer and fewer options; there is the Pilot Color Eno lineup, but I’m afraid it only comes in 0.7, and there are the short 2.00 mm cores for the Pentel Multi-8. Sadly, full-length 2.00 mm lead cores can be found just in the basic colour variants — once again, Staedtler had an amazing variety, and Faber-Castell as well. Gone are those days.
They look fantastic for writing, and they pair perfectly with the PD345
I might put one of these together to create a new desk pencil
